These steps will tell you how to make a group on Facebook. After logging into Facebook go to your Home Page. You will see a small image of your profile picture on the left. Under this is a listed series of options. Click the option in the list called Create Group.
A new window will appear with two labeled boxes and a drop-down privacy settings menu. In the first box labeled Group Name is an icon. Click on the icon and a drop-down menu will appear with a list of pictures. Select the picture you want to show as your icon. Then type a name into the box. Make sure that you use keywords and phrases in the name when you make a group on Facebook so that the search engines can find your group.
The second box is for listing members. In this box you can type the beginning of the name of a friend you wish to invite. Facebook will then create a menu of all your friends whose names begin with that letter. You can scroll down and select the friends you want. If you invite the wrong friend, you can click the x next to their name and they will be deleted.
Then select your Privacy Settings from the following options: Open, Closed, or Secret. These different options determine what information is kept private and what is made public. A window will pop up. You can select when you wish to be notified of changes. In the drop-down menu following the title Notify me When, you can select if you want to be alerted to any comments or posts. Notifications will be sent to the email address associated with your Facebook account. If you want to change the email address, you can click the blue link titled Edit Your Notifications Settings.
The next option in the window allows you to select if the group will show up in home navigation or not, and how often. Finally, decide if you want to select the box titled Send me Group Chat Messages. If you do not select it you will not be sent messages. Then click the Save Settings box at the bottom of the pop-up window.
