WOW Gold Farming Direction for New Players

By Shaniqua Shumaker

For all the players in World of Warcraft, Gold is never enough for them. They always want more for a number of reasons, such as leveling professions, buying new mounts, gaining more World of Warcraft vanity pets, and so on. However, World of Warcraft gold is harder to come by whenever there are an expansion and WotLK. Here are some items players can sell on the AH and make a lot of gold and the best spots to find these items in WotLK.

In the six weeks prior to the WotLK release, I make 20, 000 gold of World of Warcraft, and I did it through a lot of hard work and focusing on the AH. My main focus during that time was on making gold, as I knew that once the WotLK expansion came out, everyone would be focusing on leveling in WotLK and the WOW economy would experience a quick and severe downturn. Prices for formerly pricey items would shed dramatically as purchasers ceased purchasing and focused on leveling in WotLK as quickly as they can.

When using the WotLK release, this is what precisely happened. My AH sales came to some virtual standstill by 12: 20AM on November 13, and yours probably did, too. (When you are wondering why I made so much gold throughout the WotLK pre-launch period, I had heard about and decided I actually genuinely desired the WotLK Traveler's Tundra Mammoth, which has a 20, 000 gold price tag. His image would be to the left of this article, and yes, he was worth every last item of gold!)

First, keep watching the trade chat for the particular items players want. This will usually be immediate consumables (potions, flasks) or intermittent consumables (gear, gear enhancements). Record the items which are frequently requested. Then, check the items on the AH for any selling amount and general price. Keep watching the price for a few days or weeks to know the average price. Make a report of every single crafted item that sells well and also the mats required to create that item. If you don't have a crafting profession, you may more likely have a gathering profession. Players should have a gathering profession because this will maximize their gold profits by reducing the cost of the mats needed to craft the items that sold well. However, you can't have all gathering professions, and some mats (cloth, for example) don't need a gathering profession- so you have to check the costs of the base mats for the crafted products on the AH. A superb tool for checking prices and listing auctions on the auction house is the add-on, Auctioneer.

Of course, having a gathering profession on a high degree WOW toon in WotLK is a guaranteed gold-maker, which you probably know, so there's no place in writing a gold guide for WotLK about this. However, you may also make some serious gold using your fishing and cooking knowledge in WotLK, so seek out a future gold producing write-up on that subject make any difference coming from me very soon, and begin leveling your fishing and cooking to WotLK ranges now.
