Watching and editing videos, going through photos, etc will use up lots of memory so having twice as much as you did before is a major difference in the power of the device. Of course, if you already own an iPad, this may not be reason enough for you to upgrade to an iPad 2, but it makes this model more appealing for first time buyers.
