The Many Benefits Of Using A CDN Service

By Marcy Becker

Companies work hard to create fresh and innovative content and services that help them to stand out amongst the competition. As the world is increasingly relying on the web for service delivery, most modern companies have a large online presence, and to do this effectively, make use of a CDN service. This is often in the form of a company website, often one with a shopping platform where consumers can purchase products or services.

It can be very difficult, especially in the case of large businesses, to develop and maintain an interactive website. Most websites are created with the goal of getting as much traffic as possible, however, along with large numbers come a whole host of other concerns, including speeds. Thankfully, services are available today that make creating and maintaining a high volume website both easier and cheaper.

Developing a website that both attracts many different types of people but also keeps people returning over and over is key. Two of the biggest things that help this come to fruition are for the company to come up with new and innovative content and to deliver that content to users as efficiently as quickly as possible. When both of these two things are done, a website truly has unlimited potential for growth.

If I visitor to a website is not able to quickly get information and navigate without problems, they are much more likely to leave the site quickly and never return. User experience is everything today as people have come to expect more and more from the sites they visit. Slow site uploads, lagging video and audio streaming, and trouble scrolling are just a few of the things that can instantly turn visitors away.

Many companies are looking to the help of Content Delivery Networks, or CDNs, for help in the delivery of their information to consumers. These networks provide services that make creating and maintaining a quality site much more manageable as the delivery aspect is taken care of. Companies are much more able to focus their time, attention, and money on website creation and innovation when they do not have to worry about how efficiently it is being delivered to internet users.

CDNs assist with rapid delivery by connecting many different servers and duplicating content across them to increase speeds. Many different web entities use these services, including ISPs in the delivery of both static and dynamic web pages. CDNs are especially well suiting for delivery of streaming content, such as videos, music, and games, and internet TV.

The largest CDNs can consist of thousands of different servers. These are used to manage websites which receive huge amounts of traffic on a daily basis as well as for those websites which may only have huge traffic spikes on an inconsistent basis. Either way, the service is one that greatly reduces a sites down time, which only serves to improve the user experience overall.

Using a CDN service can provide a website with many different benefits. These include big things like helping with backup as well as keeping a site up during an attack or virus. Other benefits include decreasing lag and scroll errors while maintaining quick loading and streaming.
